MALAGA LOFT

Modern and stylish loft built with a minimalism vision and original design solutions.

MALAGA LOFT, THE PERFECT URBAN DWELLING

This project includes the refurbishment of a duplex in Malaga centre. The design was determined by the nature of our clients, a couple of photographers who occasionally would use the space as a photo studio. The interior layout was made so the whole space could be appreciated, even if it was subdivided by mobile elements.

Inspiration came from a kind of nostalgy of the old photography process, like the old developing system. Lots of elements are hanging from the ceiling, like photos hung to dry in the darkroom. We have also brought back the developping trays. They appear hanging in different sizes, delimiting different uses.

How to decorate a loft

Red colour is repeated in lots of decoration details and inside the trays.

This colour is a reminder of the old darkroom used to develop photos.

UNIQUE SPACES FULL OF PERSONALITY

The big space we started with let us develop our creativity to the maximum. Hanging in the center of the space and attracting all the attention, a kind of old film roll appears. From it, a screen is hanging as if it was the very same film. This screeen works as a backdrop for the photography studio, as well as a projection screen for the sitting area. Used materials (old brick walls and wooden floors) and its colour palette, in warm tones, compensate the coldness and neutrality of the studio zone. The interior project includes a mixture of warm and cold, so that the areas to work are distinguished from the areas to live.

REFURBISHED PENTHOUSE IN MALAGA CENTRE

In this project we had the opportunity to update a great space right in the middle of the city of Malaga. An old building that has been brought to a new life with our fresh ideas. The renovation project includes a tall open space as a sitting room, dining room and photo studio, and then a more private and shorter space with the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. It has also a terrace on the roof with great views.

There is a staircaise leading to the upper terrace which starts surrounding the dining area, where also works as a piece of furniture for storing. Then it goes up and turns into a kind of top gallery that envolves the studio space. Still, this feature is very light and doesn’t intervene in the sense of a whole big space. If you liked it and want to know more about this project, send us an email. We´d love hearing from you!

In interior design, our client’s personality is reflected on every single detail.
